Цель урока: систематизация и закрепление учебного материала по теме “Двенадцать цветов года”.

Задачи урока:

Учебная задача:

Развивающая задача: развитие аналитических способностей; развитие умения логически мыслить, рассуждать, описывать; развитие абстрактного мышления.

Воспитательная задача: воспитание любви к природе, бережного отношения к окружающему нас миру растений.

I. Организационный момент

1. Приветствие

Teacher: Hello, boys and girls! I am glad to see you! How are you today? Who is on duty today?

2. Объяснение целей урока

Teacher: Today we shall continue to study the topic “World around us” and you will read a text to learn more about different flowers. We are going to practice Present Indefinite Passive in different exercises and games and by the end of the lesson you’ll be able to use the names of flowers and Present Indefinite Passive correctly.

At the beginning of the lesson let’s revise how to read the new words.

Teacher: Who can read the names of flowers?

Who can read the nouns?

Now read only the adjectives.

Find and read the word that can be both a noun and a verb.

Give the three forms of this verb. (smell – smelt – smelt)

III. Речевая разминка

Teacher: And now transform my sentences from Active into Passive.

Follow the model: V1 – IS / ARE V3

For example:

I give you the sentence in Active – We save wild animals.

You transform it into Passive –Wild animals are saved.

* We protect nature. (Nature is protected.)

* People plant trees. (Trees are planted.)

* Sometimes people kill wild animals. (Wild animals are killed.)

* Children water flowers. (Flowers are watered.)

* We grow daffodils in the garden. (Daffodils are grown in the garden.)

* People cut down many trees. (Trees are cut down.)

IV. Совершенствование грамматических навыков

1. Совместное формулирование правил.

Teacher: Well, pupils, what tense and voice did you use in your sentences? (Present Indefinite Passive)

Let’s remember the rules which we use to form the sentences in this tense and voice.

My questions will help you.

* When do we use Passive Voice instead of Active Voice? (When we don’t know who did something / performed the action or when it is not important who did it).

* What should you use if you want to show who did something/ performed the action?

(Use the preposition “by”; ex. Letters are brought by postman).

* How is Present Indefinite Passive formed? (With the help of the verb “to be” and the third form of the verb).

2. Игра “A Garden”

Teacher: Well, pupils, let’s play a game. Last month we went to the Botanical Gardens in

Moscow where different flowers are grown. Tell our guests what flowers are grown in our garden. You should come up to my table, choose a picture with the flower, name it and put it on the blackboard. The pupil who name things grown in the garden the last is the winner of the game.

I’ll begin. Roses are grown in our garden.

Pupil 1: Poppies are grown in our garden.

Pupil 2: Chrysanthemums are grown in our garden.

Pupil 3: Daisies are grown in our garden.

Pupil 4: Snowdrops are grown in our garden.

Pupil 5: Daffodils are grown in our garden.

Pupil 6: Lilies are grown in our garden.

Pupil 7: Primroses are grown in our garden.

Teacher: Don’t forget that different vegetables and fruits are also grown in our garden.

Учащиеся продолжают: potatoes, carrots, apples, oranges, bananas, lemons, tomatoes are grown in our garden.

Teacher: Any other examples? Who is the winner today?

Now let’ continue practicing Present Indefinite Active and Present Indefinite Passive.

I’ll give you some cards. On the one side of the card you will find the sentence in Present Indefinite Active and on the other side you will find the sentence in Present Indefinite Passive. One pupil will begin and read the sentence in the Active Voice.

Your task is to find and read the same sentence in Passive Voice and translate it. Then this pupil will continue reading the sentences.

Card 1: Roses are not grown in the North.

Every Sunday father shows Granny my marks.

Card 2: My Granny is shown my marks every Sunday.

Every morning my mother gives me a glass of milk.

Card 3: I am given a glass of milk every morning.

He often sends letters to his friends.

Card 4: Letters are often sent to friends.

We often forget grammar rules.

Card 5: Grammar rules are often forgotten.

Russian people cook pancakes during Maslenitsa week.

Card 6: Pancakes are cooked during Maslenitsa week.

Where does your mother buy bread?

Card 7: Where is bread bought by your mother?

Boys play hockey in winter.

Card 8: Hockey is played by boys in winter.

They sell flowers in the street.

Card 9: Flowers are sold in the street.

People gather fruits in autumn.

Card 10: Fruits are gathered in autumn.

People don’t grow roses in the North.

Teacher: Well done, pupils.

Teacher: I see that you are a bit tired. Let’s have a rest. Stand up and let’s do some exercises.

Ten little fingers, (Вытягивают руки перед собой, растопыривают пальцы.)
Ten little toes, (Наклоняются, задевают пальцы ног.)

VI. Совершенствование навыков чтения с извлечением необходимой информации.

Teacher: So, pupils, you know the names of different flowers. And do you know that there is a special flower for each month of the year? No? Then let’s read the text “The Twelve Flowers of the Year” and learn more about different flowers.

Open your textbooks and find ex. 22 p. 131. First read the text and then discuss the answers to the questions on these cards in pairs.

Card 1: Read the text to yourself and answer the questions:

* What flowers are for autumn months?

* What is interesting about them?

Card 2: Read the text to yourself and answer the questions:

* What flowers are for winter months?

* What is interesting about them?

Card 3: Read the text to yourself and answer the questions:

* What flowers are for spring months?

* What is interesting about them?

Card 4: Read the text to yourself and answer the questions:

* What flowers are for summer months?

* What is interesting about them?

Teacher: Are you ready to answer the questions? Who will begin?

Teacher: Pupils, now we are going to listen to our compositions. After our excursion to the Botanical Gardens some pupils wrote compositions and drew nice pictures. I am sure that they are fond of growing flowers.

Primrose: I can have different dresses: white, yellow, red, pink, rose, purple and orange. I look like a star. I am one of the earliest spring flowers. I grow wild in some countries in Europe and North America, but you can find me in China too.

Daffodil: I appear very early in spring. I like yellow dresses. I look like a sun. I have got a pleasant smell. I am a favourite flower in many gardens.

Rose: You know me very well. And you like my sweet smell. I have a lot of pretty dresses- yellow, pink, white, red. I am the prettiest flower in the garden.

Morning glory: I am a climbing plant with blue or purple flowers. My green leaves look like small green hearts. I open early in the morning, but when the hot sun appears in the sky I close. Look at my blossoms. They look like bells. And I have a sweet smell.
